Everybody is welcome to train at Cool Heart, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, age, ability, and body type. We are strongly inclusive and want to create a space where everybody feels valued and encouraged on their combat sports journey.
To promote inclusivity in the gym we have been added to a directory of anti-racist businesses by Anti-Racist Bristol, we host LGBTQ+ groups, and all our coaches are trained in safeguarding and adaptive coaching. We are always on the lookout for ways to make our space feel more inclusive - if you have any ideas and would like to make them known to the team, just get in contact here.
Please note: we offer beginner friendly classes every day, but some advanced classes require a minimum amount of experience to join. If you're unsure whether you can join a particular class, get in contact and we can direct you.

Classes run every day of the week - you can find our full schedule and booking software here. Classes start promptly so make sure to arrive 5-10 minutes beforehand so you have time to change into your gear/wraps your hands.

All classes must be booked ahead of time. Please do not turn up at the gym without booking ahead as we have limited space at the gym. If you cannot attend your class please remember to cancel ahead of time so that somebody else can have your space. You can book here.
We offer refunds on classes cancelled more than 24 hours before the start of the class - if you cancel less than 24 hours ahead of time, you will not be given a refund. Please note: we do not take cash payments - all bookings must be handled via our booking software.

Classes cost £10 PAYG, £47.50 for student unlimited monthly membership (only valid with valid student ID), and £55 for adult unlimited monthly membership. Monthly memberships are on a rolling basis and may be cancelled by the customer at any time. All memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. Because our prices are already relatively low we do not offer concessions.

We do not offer free trials - however, if you'd like to try out Muay Thai we do run free community classes every Saturday. Check our schedule to book.

All students should bring comfy training clothes and a water bottle. We have a small amount of gear for new students to borrow - however, for hygiene reasons we ask that all students purchase their own boxing gloves and shinguards ASAP.
We sell gear onsite in partnership with Fortune Fightwear, a Bristol-based gear manufacturer, and members of Cool Heart Combat Sports receive special discounts on Fortune gear (find out more here). If you want more advice about reputable brands and where to purchase gear, just get in touch with us here.

Absolutely. We place a strong emphasis on developing our beginner students. We have small class sizes and we often ask active fighters to act as mentors for new students to ensure that you feel supervised as you learn the basics.
If you're concerned about your fitness level, we encourage all students to participate in whatever way feels manageable for them. We can always work around fitness and injury within reason, and we will help you to push your body within its capabilities while developing strength and agility.
If you have any underlying medical conditions that may impact your ability to exercise, we ask that you see your GP before attending class so that they can advise you on safe ways to train.
-
We have a limited number of parking spaces for cars directly outside of the gym, and bikes can be stored in the back of the gym during class if necessary.
Please note: there may be bike thieves around St Phillips, so it is highly recommended that you secure your bike if you intend to ride to training.
